Put a textbook page or topic file on the board

Place the PDFs and files attached to your class's curriculum onto the Circin Canvas board, move and resize the card, and write over it.

The textbooks and files attached to your curriculum can be put straight on the glass as a card, at any size, anywhere on the canvas — and you can write over them with the pen exactly as you would annotate paper.

How do I place a file?

  1. Tap Topics on the left rail. Under each topic, its attached files appear as small chips.
  2. Tap a chip. The file lands on the canvas as a card and the board confirms Placed with the file name.
  3. For textbooks, tap Book on the rail instead. The panel is headed Book / PDFs with the subtitle For this class. Tap a tile in the grid.
  4. Drag the card by its header bar — the grip icon is the handle. Resize it from the glyph in its bottom-right corner.
  5. Write over it with Pen or Mark.

Rules and gotchas

  • The file type decides the card. Images render as images, PDFs open in a viewer you can page through, 3D models open in a viewer you can spin, and anything else opens as a web card.
  • Cards are placed at the centre of the screen with a small offset each time, and the header is always kept reachable — it cannot end up under the top bar or off the edge.
  • Only files actually attached to the curriculum appear here. With none attached, Book reads No PDFs linked for this class. Attaching them is done in the admin panel.
  • There is no way to open a file from the panel itself. Circin Canvas has no file picker and no import — everything on the board comes from the curriculum or from the resource library.
  • A card that fails to load shows Couldn't load with a Retry button.

Close a card from the ✕ in its header. If several are open at once, the switcher is easier — see Arrange what is open on the board.
