Run Circin Canvas on a Windows panel

How Circin Canvas is installed on a Windows classroom panel, how it updates itself, and the two controls that differ from the Android and iPad builds.

Circin Canvas runs on Windows classroom panels as well as on Android interactive panels and iPad. Circin installs it during onboarding, it updates itself in the background, and two controls differ from the other builds: Windows draws its own title bar, and F11 gives you classroom fullscreen.

How is it installed?

  1. Circin installs Circin Canvas on each panel during onboarding. There is no public download and no store listing for the Windows build.
  2. A school that manages its devices with Intune or SCCM can push the app to its panels as a line-of-business MSIX package instead. Otherwise a technician installs it panel by panel.
  3. Updates install themselves. The panel checks in the background roughly every eight hours; an update never blocks launch and never prompts, so it cannot interrupt a period.

How do I run it in a classroom?

  1. Launch Circin Canvas from the Start menu. It opens as a normal maximised Windows window with the standard title bar — minimise, maximise and close are Windows' own controls.
  2. Press F11 for classroom fullscreen. Press F11 again to return to exactly the window you had.
  3. Pair, teach and sign out as on any other panel. See Pair Circin Canvas with your phone.
  4. The mouse wheel zooms the canvas around the pointer.

Rules and gotchas

  • Closing the window while a recording is running is caught on every route — the title-bar ✕, Alt+F4 and the taskbar — and asks first: "Close Circin Canvas?" — "A recording is still running — closing now loses it. Stop the recording first to save the transcript to this session." Mid-save you get a similar warning about losing the last few changes.
  • On Windows 10 and LTSC images, web cards, PDF cards and Google searches need the WebView2 runtime. Without it the app still runs, but those cards show Couldn't load.
  • The app asks for internet and microphone only. It never asks for the camera.
  • The window has a minimum size of 1024×640 so the classroom layout stays readable.
