Read your notifications in Circin
Open the bell in Circin for everything your school has sent you, tap an entry to go to what it is about, and clear the list when you are done.
Updated
The bell in the top right of the app bar holds everything your school has pushed to you — results, assignments, diary notes, bus alerts — with an unread count that stops climbing at 9+.
How do I read them?
- Tap the bell. The "Notifications" screen opens with entries newest first, grouped under "Today", "This Week" and "Older". Empty groups are skipped.
- Each entry shows a title, up to two lines of the message and a time —
hh:mm atoday,EEE, hh:mm athis week,dd MMM yyyyfor older ones. Unread entries are bold on a tinted background with a dot. - Pull down to refresh. Home → "For you" → "See all" opens the same screen.
What happens when I tap one?
It is marked read — the dot clears and the badge drops — and Circin opens what it is about. Most go straight to the thing: a result to your marksheet, an assignment to that assignment, a diary note to that entry, a message to that chat, an attendance scan to the face-scan screen. Some land on a list instead: any transport notification opens Transport, a bus alert opens Track my bus, a school announcement opens the Notice Board list rather than that one notice.
How do I clear the list?
Tap the sweep icon in the app bar (its tooltip reads "Clear All"). It appears only when there is something to clear. There is no confirmation and no undo — the whole list goes at once and the screen falls back to "No notifications".
Rules and gotchas
- The list lives on this phone, not on your school's server. Reinstalling Circin, clearing app data or signing out loses it, and what you have read does not follow you to another device. It keeps the most recent 200 entries.
- Pushes that arrive while Circin is closed are captured too, so an ignored banner still turns up here.
- There is no "mark all as read", and no notification on/off setting anywhere in Circin. If nothing is arriving, allow notifications for Circin in your phone's own settings — Circin asks once, after you first sign in, and cannot ask again.
