When your teacher starts an attendance scan, Circin gives you a way to mark yourself present: a face scan that takes a few seconds. There is no menu tile for it — it appears only while a scan is open.

How do I start the scan?

  1. On Home, look in "For you" for the row reading "Attendance not marked" / "Scan before first period" with a red Today chip, and tap it. Tapping your teacher's attendance notification opens the same screen.
  2. The screen "Reflect Face Scan" opens on a consent card: "Ready to Scan" with "Position your face within the frame. Make sure you're in a well-lit area."
  3. Tap Start Scan. The front camera opens with an oval guide and a coaching banner that tells you what to fix — "Align face within frame", "No face detected", "Too Dark", "Too Bright (Glare)", "Look Straight (Turn Head)", "Move Closer", "Move Farther".
  4. Hold still until the banner reads "Processing…", then "Verification Complete" and "Submitting Attendance…".
  5. A green tick and "Attendance Submitted Successfully" confirm it. Circin returns to Home after a couple of seconds.

What happens the first time?

Circin sends you to "Face Registration" first: a card explaining it will capture your face, then a Start Camera button, the same coaching banner with a blue "Registration Mode" chip, and a "Face Registered!" confirmation that drops you back into the scan. Your face data stays on this phone only — reinstalling Circin or moving to a new phone means registering again. Cancelling registration cancels the scan with it.

Rules and gotchas

  • Location must be on. Otherwise: "Location services are disabled. Please enable GPS." (with an ENABLE shortcut) or "Location permission is required for attendance."
  • If it cannot match you: "Verification Failed" with the reason and a Try Again button. Better light and a straight-on angle fix most failures.
  • The Home nudge disappears a few minutes after the teacher starts the scan, but the scan itself still works — open it from the notification.
  • Your scan is filed against your teacher's session date, not your phone's clock.
  • Submission gives up after ten seconds with "Submission timed out. Please try again."
  • This screen is in English whatever language the rest of the app is in.
